Day 17

Posted on October 18, 2025October 6, 2025 by Kev

Sorta like Day 16 in our 30 Days of Horror Challenge, today’s topic for discussion is “The last horror film you watched.”

Yesterday I planned to watch “Terror Train” because I honestly don’t recall if I’ve ever seen it more than the one time. I didn’t watch it, but I did learn that they did a re-make of it in 2022. Is that something people have been begging for? A 40+ year revival of a meh slasher? Whatever. Movie people will make anything into a movie, especially other movies.

Nah, didn’t watch either of those. Instead I Sat down to have a living room dinner in front of the 1957 “Curse of the Demon.” This is one of those influential older horror movies that not everyone has heard of. I plan on reviewing it for some future posting on this website, but it’s surprisingly good, with super eerie monster effects for the time period. By that I don’t necessarily address the technology or how groundbreaking it may or may not have been for the era. I mean specifically creepy, ominous, regardless of the time period. Especially the at-a-distance shots where everything seems so much more ethereal and inescapable, like an actual nightmare you might have had last week. Curse of the Demon really captures that feeling.

Anyway, come back sometime in the future, I’ll give a fuller review later this year or early next year.

New reviews are posted periodically on Saturdays, and every day throughout October
