Three days left in our 30-Day Horror Challenge, I hope you both have enjoyed it as much as I have! What’s today’s challenge? Why it’s none other than “Favorite horror movie score!”
Runners up:
“Jaws.” It’s got that buuuuhBUM! music along with a full orchestra of Star Wars’ish dramatic classical music.
“The Lost Boys.” Roger Daltrey, INXS, Echo and the Bunnymen and that muscley guy in the tight purple pants playing saxophone.
“Halloween.” That dark wave retro synthy Euro club music sound that everyone loves? It used to just be called “The Soundtrack to Halloween.”

Winner:
“Suspiria.”
Dario Argento’s movies Tenebre, Deep Red, Phenomena, Sleepless and Suspiria were all scored by Italian prog rock band “Goblin.” It’s got a timeless creepy vibe to it, and Suspiria’s soundtrack is pretty much at the top of the list. Side note, they also did the soundtrack to George Romero’s “Martin” and “Zombi,” and Joe D’Amato’s “Beyond the Darkness.”
