Daddy’s Little Girl (2014)

Posted on April 12, 2025February 20, 2025 by Kev

Georgia is a 6-yr-old girl living the normal 6-yr-old girl life: She has family and friends and a clown at her birthday party and her parents hate each other. That is until the night she’s abducted from her home. Abducted, I might add, from the bedroom in her mother’s house, through that window that’s been broken for months, and I TOLD her mother “what do you mean ‘when you have the money’ I told you I would fix it, why are you bringing up money? I pay my child support every month, maybe if you were sober once in awhile you’d remember that!

The neighborhood mobilize and they find Georgia down at the beach, well they find what’s left of her anyway. Well shit. Now I’m sad, I’m sorry dear, I know it wasn’t your fault, that broken window probably didn’t even make a difference. (quietly to self: It’s just too bad the garage door wasn’t the thing that was broken, otherwise we’d be mourning the loss of my Mercedes that your snake lawyer got you in the divorce settlement.)

For the next six months Daddy sulks at home and believes Georgia visits him at night, his brother and his business partner try to rouse him from his self-imposed isolation with parties and support groups, and no suspect has yet to be found. Not by the police, anyway. Daddy knows best – he finds the culprit in probably the most implausible way imaginable. No need to trouble the police, Daddy’s got plans!

Daddy spends the next several scenes casually discussing his torture plans, in the guise of “Hey I heard that a human body can fit a zillion flesh-eating beetles up the pooper and the pain is terrible but can last for six days before they die from beetle butt, now that’s not really purely hypothetically true, right? What? Eight to ten days? Really? Wow, never would have guessed! I’m just going to go ahead and write something completely unrelated into this notebook that, as a joke, I wrote “Daddy’s Torture Notebook” on the binder. I’m just nutty like that!”

That’s the basic horror element, revenge torture porn. Gratuitous and gory, and a little absurd. “Oi, Tommy, check this out! Know where this is gonna go? What? No idea? Up your ass, mate!” It has a little bit of weird dark humor sprinkled around the bloody second half. It’s a fun movie, albeit somewhat one-dimensional. There’s not a lot to it, it basically has two parts: The pretext for torture, followed by the actual torture. Then credits roll with a brief montage of newspaper clippings about various vigilante actions against child predators, which basically explains the inspiration for the movie.

It’s a gory bummer of a movie. Yay gore, boo child predator overtones. I would rate it high marks for gore, middle marks for story and relevance, and Mido would rate it… well Mido is a cat, she would sleep through it.
